The French and Indian War Seven Years of Conflict eBook Henry Roberts
This book is an extremely comprehensive introduction to the French and Indian war. The author examines this conflict from every angle.....politically, militarily, and individually. Indians, artillery, uniforms and strategy are all presented in detail. I found the author also touched on topics that are not usually mentioned such as the naval conflict , Rogers Rangers. and Pontiac's war. In addition the role of women and civilians are explored. The author also provides excellent studies of the personalities involved. He accomplished all this in a very balanced way. The unadorned, straightforward prose is supplemented with wonderful illustrations and insightful maps. However, the book is in need of an editor. The organization of the book is difficult to follow and seems haphazard.

The French and Indian War Seven Years of Conflict eBook Henry Roberts Reviews
This book has a lot of good descriptions of battles with much information on people .
I look forward to reading his next book.
This is an interesting and easy-to-read history, with significant attention paid to military aspects
(but perhaps undue attention paid to details of the uniforms of the combatants). I suspect I
would have given it between 3 and 4 stars for the paper version (but I haven't seen
that version).
However, the version is a complete disservice to the author, and the rest of this review
focuses on issues with the version.
There has been *no* copy editing of the edition. Every apostrophe appears as a double back quote.
There is a missing space in front of each double quote. 25% of the photos/figures have captions but no figure.
Captions for figures are not set off typographically from the main text. In many places two words are merged
together because of missing spaces, eg. "farreaching", "beingto", or words have extraneous spaces inserted
"colonist s", " was t he first", "stir red political unrest"... Finally, the lack of a table of contents, and the way
subheadings of chapters were merged into the text made reading this edition painful.
I feel sorry for the author whose work has been so poorly served by the "editors" of the edition.
Don't buy the version.
The military and political history is well presented. Too much attention given to uniforms, color of facings, trim etc.,although some of it is pertinent. The adaptation by the British to American conditons in this war was signifcant.
The version which I read had a number of errors words run togerher, descriptions of illustations but no illustation, quotation marks used in place of parenthris, etc.
The era and the war were important to our history and not many books have been written about it. This is a good one if you can get past the annoyances.
See above. Very disappointed in the way it was written and payed out. Could of covered more on dates used with out back tracking
Item arrived on time, on price and as described. It gave me an excellent perspective of the conflict and the events of the time.
digital version is hard to follow as many pics missing and captions mix in with narrative. liked the book but on kindle it is too hard to read and maps are too small.
This book is extremely well written and approachable for anyone interested in learning more about the French and Indian War. In fact, it’s one of the more comprehensive books I have read regarding the topic. It covers each battle in great detail and looks at some of the greatest leaders from each side. You’ll also learn why the war started in the first place and who allied with the British and French. I highly recommend this book.
